The Virginia Environmental Law Journal (VELJ) provides a forum for discussion of current environmental issues through the publication of cutting edge legal scholarship. The journal remains open to all perspectives and strives to maintain the highest level of academic integrity as a forum that truly encourages the free exchange of ideas. We view “environmental law” very broadly. VELJ publishes three times per year, and accepts articles from leading scholars, practitioners, and government officials, as well as exceptional student notes.

Published by U.Va. law students since 1982, the Virginia Environmental Law Journal is a leader in environmental legal scholarship. The journal focuses on state, regional, national, and international issues of environmental, preservation, land use, energy, and natural resources law.
